Why Isn't My Therapist Website Getting Any Inquiries?

"Everyone says my website is beautiful. So why isn't anyone reaching out?"

I hear some version of this all the time. And usually, she's right. The site is beautiful.

But pretty and clear aren't the same thing.

Pretty gets a parent to stay for a few seconds. Clear is what gets her to reach out. When a website isn't bringing in inquiries, it's almost never because it needs to be fancier. It's because somewhere between landing on the page and hitting send, a parent got confused and quietly moved on.

Here's where I see it happen most.

They can't tell who you help

A parent should know within five seconds if she's in the right place.

"Compassionate, individualized therapy for your family" could be any practice in any town. "Speech therapy for toddlers and late talkers in Naperville" tells her exactly who you're for.

Name the kid. Name the concern. Name the town. It feels narrower, but it's what makes the right families feel like you're talking straight to them.

There's no clear next step

Book a call. Download the guide. Read the blog. Follow on Instagram. Join the waitlist.

When everything is a button, nothing is.

Pick one main action, the thing you most want a new family to do, and put it at the top of your homepage, again in the middle, and again at the bottom. Make it so easy she doesn't have to think.

Your homepage talks about you first

Most therapy homepages open with credentials. Degrees, certifications, years of experience.

Those matter. They just don't matter first.

A parent lands on your site carrying a worry. Her kid isn't talking yet. Mealtimes are a battle. The pediatrician said "let's keep an eye on it" and she doesn't want to wait. Start there. Show her you understand what she's feeling, then show her why you're the one to help.

Your credentials are the proof. Her worry is the hook.

It falls apart on her phone

She's not at a desk. She's on the couch at 9pm, scrolling with one thumb while her kid finally sleeps.

Pull up your site on your phone right now. Does the menu work? Can you tap your phone number to call? Is your contact form a pile of tiny boxes? If it's annoying for you, it's annoying for her.

She never found you in the first place

Sometimes the website isn't the problem. Nobody's seeing it.

A few quick, low-tech checks:

  • Is your Google Business Profile set up and filled in?

  • Does your town or service area show up in your headings, not just the footer?

  • Have you asked happy families to leave a Google review?

None of these need a redesign. They just help the right families find you.

The real point

Your website doesn't need to be fancier. It needs to be easier to say yes to.
